The course integrates three important disciplines of product design – Arts, Engineering and Business. You will get to explore design processes at every stage, from idea conceptualisation to realisation, and graduate with quality design folios, including working prototypes. With our studio-based learning approach, you will work in modern design studios and develop prototypes using state-of-the-art model making equipment and facilities.
Jalan Besar Performing Arts Centre
Site Location: Jalan Besar/ Beatty Road
The natural quirkiness of the neighborhood, having high rise condominiums and two-storey shophouses with industrial buildings along the site, had to be manifested into the design scheme with careful thinking. The site also had an unusual trapezium shape.
The widening cone shaped profile of the site makes it a natural opportunity for an outdoor auditorium on the ground level. The auditorium provides the platform for the oncoming spaces coupling it. With the above factors in consideration, a form follow function approach was the main rule for design. Issuing the programmes in the spaces is the priority. The design philosophy can also be recognised as an 'inside out' strategy.

My name is Luke Juan and I am 20 years old. Ever since I was a boy I was inspired by my father to pursue architecture. I started doing 3D modelling on sketchup at the age of 8 and was formally introduced to the practice when I enrolled in to Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Sustainable Urban Design and Technology.
