KOTO
Samuel Tan
WHAT
Koto is japanese for “lone island”. Koto is a lone island for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of their work. Representing tranquility and peace, it’s sole purpose is for the user to enjoy solitude and nature at the same time.
WHY
Designed to have a potted bonsai in the center, koto is for those who devote themselves to caring for a bonsai tree for hours on end, achieving solitude.
HOW
The table top is placed as such as to allow the user to have enough space for them to take care of the bonsai and at the same time allow them to have ample arm lenght to place other items such as phone, magazines, cups, plates, etc.
