The course integrates three important disciplines of product design – Arts, Engineering and Business. You will get to explore design processes at every stage, from idea conceptualisation to realisation, and graduate with quality design folios, including working prototypes. With our studio-based learning approach, you will work in modern design studios and develop prototypes using state-of-the-art model making equipment and facilities.
Cultural Hive @ Jalan Besar
Cultural Hive @ Jalan Besar is a heritage center targeted towards the elderly residents and youth visitors of the site, which is crafted from multiple hexagonal modular units. The main goal of the project was to rejuvenate the site and bring new life into its surrounding neighborhood by allowing the cross pollination of different ideas and cultures between the two target groups. Using the modular hexagonal units, different types of gathering spaces are able to be formed, changed and expanded to fulfill the various needs of the user group as the culture of the site changes over time. This is possible due to the construction of each modular unit, which consists of a steel frame and switchable wall panels that allow each module to have different spatial qualities within them.
Julian Neo Kai Seong
My name is Julian, and I am a fresh graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic who specializes in Architecture. I am a motivated and hardworking person who does not back away from challenges easily. My strengths lie in my ability to be detailed, analytical and never leaving tasks uncompleted. Throughout my 3 years in polytechnic, I experienced various aspects of design and architecture through all the opportunities provided by the school. Outside of lessons, I have picked up 2 musical instruments during my free time; the guitar and the piano, and also practice a martial art called Aikido weekly.
