Duo

Duo is a contrast of spaces that intends to serve the existing elderly community alongside attracting a younger group of people. The design plans to go underground to create a lively atmosphere without interfering with the current slow paced environment happening above. The hydro pools are curated to encourage the elderly to stay active while the basement is lined with exciting activities along the windy ramp down. With the pools above, it acts as natural light wells that dissipate the daylight that creates dynamic patterns in the basement. thus promoting a concealed chaos and below a peaceful ground level. As we are an ageing population, the function keeps in mind the elderly’s physical challenges and utilises it to create beneficial spaces for the whole community.
