The course integrates three important disciplines of product design – Arts, Engineering and Business. You will get to explore design processes at every stage, from idea conceptualisation to realisation, and graduate with quality design folios, including working prototypes. With our studio-based learning approach, you will work in modern design studios and develop prototypes using state-of-the-art model making equipment and facilities.
WHAT
‘Labrix’ is a mood lamp concept that is designed to cast labyrinth shadows on the walls to evoke the feeling of being in a forest.
WHY
The goal is to simulate the essence and surreal feeling of a forest when sunlight is shining through from the crown of the trees to the surroundings below. ‘Labrix’ creates a time motion mimicking the sun's brightness when rising and setting.
HOW
‘Labrix’ uses a simple mechanism similar to umbrellas where the panels can be adjusted manually to change the shape of the lamp to cast the preferred effect of labyrinth shadows. With a simple pull of the rope, the user can change the brightness and shadows of the environment, hence adding to the interior effect of the surrounding..
